SPONSOR NEWS : AIROWEAR BACKS AMY YOUNG WITH NEW SPONSORSHIP

Published: 17/04/2007

AIROWEAR Ltd have every reason to celebrate after securing sponsorship with international event rider, Amy Young, to endorse their equestrian body protectors and Troxel helmets.

Celebrations continued when Amy defeated all other British riders to win second place in the British Open at the NEC, during her first event since the sponsorship with Airowear was agreed.

Amy, based in County Durham, is the reigning young riders European champion. She has always worn Airowear?s garments prior to the sponsorship agreement and is delighted to be officially associated with the market leading company, who are based locally in Corbridge.

Last year Amy was the first person of her age group to win two gold medals since 1993. She has also been invited to participate with the British squad at the test event for the 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong.

Chrissie Beatty, marketing manager of Airowear says; ?It is absolutely fantastic that Amy has come on board with us, we have followed Amy?s progress as she has come up through the rider rankings and are delighted to have such a talented and committed rider associated with our brand. Amy is the ideal role model for our equestrian body protectors and we look forward to following her international success?

On behalf of Airowear, Amy will be presenting a team prize to the winners of the European Young Rider Championships at Blair Castle in August.

Ruth Edge, the international event rider who in 2006 added the title of Scottish Open Champion to her 2004 British Open title is also sponsored by Airowear. Ruth, based in Cumbria, has been sponsored by Airowear for 4 years and is another classic example of Airowear supporting up and coming event riders.

Airowear?s rugby division also sponsors Falcons player Jamie Noon who sports their Airodynamix protective shoulder pads and compression shorts.
