Charles Owen And Airowear At LRK3DE 2018: Day 3
Not only is cross-country day a favorite at the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event, but also today was the first day of BETA Safety Week! We’re thrilled that all of the horses and riders made it home safely today.
What is BETA Safety Week? It’s a celebration of equestrian safety and an opportunity to share tips and information with riders around the world. It’s also an opportunity to purchase a new helmet or body protector at a discount. You don’t even have to be at the Kentucky Horse Park – tack stores around the world are participating! Be sure to check out your local retailer to see if they’re part of the BETA Safety Week movement.
We also had another fantastic day on the booth providing helmet and body protector fittings to riders from across the country. Though the booth quieted down when everyone was out on course to cheer their favorite riders on cross-country, it was another beautiful, busy day. Our custom Ayr8® helmets were hugely popular again today, with so many riders designing a bespoke helmet to match their personal styles. We also fitted riders of all ages in skullcaps to wear on their own next cross-country runs with the 4Star and Pro II Plus (it comes with a removable liner!) being popular choices.
We’ve had the opportunity to fit lots of teenage riders in their first body protectors this weekend and hope that they all have fantastic eventing seasons this year! The Airowear AyrPS remains a hit and we’re so glad that so many riders have been able to experience the fit and feel of this high technology air protection system. Our resident expert of the weekend, Ian Mitchell, had another fantastic tip to give to anyone fitting body protectors: If you’re not completely sure of the size, always start with a body protector that is slightly too big instead of one that is too small. This way, you won’t restrict the rider and make him or her uncomfortable. Tomorrow is the last day that Ian and the team will be here, so don’t miss the opportunity to be fitted by one of the best in the industry!
We welcomed plenty more wonderful dogs to the booth – don’t forget, tomorrow is your last day to stop by and pick up a Charles Owen bandana for your best furry friend!
